Start by taking about 1 tbsp of cooked basmati rice and putting it into a pot |

Tip about 1 tsp of food colouring of your choice over the rice and stir in, do this in separate dishes for as many colours as you like using a seperate spoon or fork for each colour |

|
Leave to soak for 5 minutes |

Lay down a couple of sheets of kitchen paper and scoop the rice out of each dish into single separated lines on the paper to drain. Use a seperate spoon or fork for each colour again so the colours stay sharp |

After a couple of minutes gently spread the grains away from the main blotches of soaked up colouring to help them dry and leave them for about 15-20 mins to fully dry |

Once ready either sprinkle over your rice, stir it in or box up and keep in the fridge to use within 3 days, alternatively freeze in an airtight bag to use as required |
