1 cup Rice - Basmati

250 ml Coconut Milk

60 ml Water

1 tablespoon Coconut Oil

1/4 teaspoon Salt

1 small white Brown/White Onionsliced thinly
Directions
Basmati rice cooked in softened onions and coconut milk.

Prepare the riceRinse your rice in a bowl until it runs clear, this normally takes about 6 rinses. cover with clean water and let soak for 15 minutes. |

Heat a saucepan with the Coconut oil (hard or liquid) in on a medium heat for 2 minutes |

Add the Onions and fry gently until softened. You may need to add more oil. |

Add the washed rice and stir, till well combined then add the salt, coconut milk and water. Turn the heat up and once the rice starts to boil reduce the heat to its lowest setting. Cover the rice with tinfoil and the lid of the saucepan to trap in the heat and cook for 15 minutes. DO NOT lift the lid to peak, the buildup of steam and patience is all you need |
