You probably have everything you need around your home already but I’ll list the equipment I have which enables me to cook all the meals with ease.
Pot or pan capable of holding 4+ litres
for when you make base gravy
to liquidise the base gravy into a soup like consistency.
Aluminium frying pan or wok.
I use a 28cm one with a wooden handle. It’s light weight and cooks really well without sticking
A long chefs spoon and spatula
Great for mixing your oils and spices without getting a burnt hand and the spatula is great for incorporating all the lovely caramelised sauce from the sides back into the mix.
A measuring jug
for measuring liquid of course
A set of measuring spoons and cups
nearly all of the recipes give measurements in ml, cups, tbsp, tsp or parts of. An essential item.
Plastic round containers with lids
I use these all the time to store base gravy in the freezer and put the spices and ingredients for each step of my meals in. I purchased 50 4oz (120ml) & 50 10oz (300ml) and these freeze and microwave very well
if you are planning on making breads then I’ve found my concave black iron tawa really helps. A frying pan is nearly as good most of time.
I also tend to cook mainly outside using a simple camping stove as it gives great control of the heat (and I don’t get moaned at for making the whole house constantly smell of curry)
